Uluru – Ancient Sites, Earrings

Uluru is a massive red sandstone rock jutting out of a flat plain in the Northern Territory. This natural artwork (also known as Ayers Rock) changes colour over the day from rich reds to russet tones. The rain brings gushing waterfalls down the rock face, but also erosion. Uluru is sacred to the           Pitjantjatjara, the  Aboriginal people of the area, known as the Anangu. The area around the formation is home to an abundance of springs, waterholes, rock caves, and ancient paintings. Uluru is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Walking around the base of the rock is 10km and popular with tourists. Uluru is also a place of spiritual pilgrimage and the ancient stories of the dreamtime. Uluru is a sacred monolith and natural treasure in the heart of the Australia.
