The Holy Grail & Divine Feminine, Cream/Gold
This holy symbol could be the most enigmatic of all time! Is it Christ’s holy cup used in the last supper and at his death (Old French graal ‘cup’, from medieval Latin gradalis ‘dish’) or does it represent the womb as a vessel to carry Jesus decedents? The mythology surrounding the grail has been talked about for 2000 years, with King Arthur and his knights of the round table and the many crusades to the holy land to find the relics of Jesus. Legend tells of a pregnant Mary Magdalene feeing to Europe (England, France) after Jesus death, that she was his wife and one of the disciples. The Early church and especially the council of Nicaea (Constantinople), formed their church in a patriarchal manner, painting women as subservient sinners. Mary Magdalene was cast as a prostitute, no one could know that she was a disciple or possible wife of Jesus; that would create too many questions and Jesus would be seen as a man of philosophy and not the son of God (the Vatican has now deemed Mary Magdalene a Saint). The Holy Grail represents love, spirituality, inspiration, purity, mystery, healing, quest, justice, family, cycles of life, the divine and the sacred feminine.
