The shifting sands of the Sahara Desert are a natural wonder. Sahara in Africa is the largest hot desert in the world and spreads through eleven countries. The desert has many variations from huge sand dunes, grasslands and rocky flat plains. There are many protected UNESCO caves with evidence of early human development. The Egyptian and Nubian Pyramids rise out of the desert in spectacular style. Conservation efforts to protect endangered reptiles and animals continue. Like any desert Sahara is a place of peace and spiritual connection. The desert allows people to hear that true sense of quiet. There are many stories of people finding a sort of enlightened wisdom after spending time in the desert. Messages from the soul appear when you are immersed in silence. The desert is not always quiet especially when the wind whips are a sandstorm. Meditate on a calm warm desert to gain some more inspiration; see the rippling sand and blue horizon or a million stars at night.
