Nazca Lines Spider

The giant geoglyphs at Nazca in Southern Peru date from 500BCE-500CE with a total of 70 figures. These specular zoomorphic designs carved into the Nazca desert can be best seen from light aircraft and this poses many questions. How did they see the finished designs, how did they calculate the measurements and who were they for?

The lines have now been checked for astronomical alignments and one of the theories is that the 150 ft. long spider is a representation of the constellation Orion and that the straight lines from it track it’s changing position over the years of the belt stars. Another interesting thing about the spider is that it is a rare species only found in isolated areas of the Amazon forest. This is of course a wet area and the species is unlikely to have been found in the dry Nazca area, though environments do change. The spider is the master weaver representing, mystery, empowerment, growth, creativity and independence.
