Nazca Lines Hummingbird

The giant geoglyphs at Nazca in Southern Peru date from 500BCE-500CE with a total of 70 figures. These specular zoomorphic designs carved into the Nazca desert can be best seen from light aircraft and this poses many questions. How did they see the finished designs, how did they calculate the measurements and who were they for?

The hummingbird glyph measures 320-feet-long. This bird is one of the smallest in the world and has amazing speed and agility and it gathers nectar from flowers and plants. The hummingbird is considered to be magical bird in Peruvian culture as it can speak to the gods and relay messages to the people. This bird is a joy to watch as it hovers in mid-air as it wings become almost invisible. The hummingbird is a symbol of light, energy, joy, intelligence, regeneration, resurrection and healing.
