Nazca Lines Dog

The giant geoglyphs at Nazca in Southern Peru date from 500BCE-500CE with a total of 70 figures. These specular zoomorphic designs carved into the Nazca desert can be best seen from light aircraft and this poses many questions. How did they see the finished designs, how did they calculate the measurements and who were they for?

Peru only has one native breed of dog these days: the Peruvian Hairless dog. The Nazca dog must represent one of the earlier breeds, perhaps an ancestor of the Peruvian Hairless  that existed in Peru at the time of the Nazca civilization. The Nazca dog measures 170 feet-long. The geometric design gives the dog a startled look or maybe it is stretching or barking. All the symbols are quite contemporary in design, though this is a trait of artworks in Peru.
