Mala or Japamala beads, are prayer beads are used by Hindus, Buddhists, Jains, and some Sikhs for the spiritual practices japa. Mala/japmala means garland in Sanskrit. Mala beads usually have 108 beads, though other numbers are also used. Malas are used for keeping count while reciting, chanting, or mentally repeating a mantra or the name or names of a deity. Great for use in yoga, meditation classes and spiritual practices – can be used as a necklace or bracelet.
