Mala or Japamala, are prayer beads used by Hindus, Buddhists, Jains and some Sikhs for the spiritual practice japa. Mala/japmala means garland in Sanskrit. Mala beads usually have 108 beads. Malas are used for keeping count while reciting, chanting, or mentally repeating a mantra or the name or names of a deity. Great for use in yoga, meditation classes and spiritual practices – can be used as a necklace or bracelet.
The lucky endless knot is a symbol of longevity, continuity, love, and harmony. As a symbol of the Buddha’s mind the eternal knot embodies the Buddha’s compassion and endless wisdom. With no beginning and no end the knot symbolises the continuing cycles of life. This symbol is one of the eight magical auspicious objects in Buddhism. The knot brings long life, happiness and good fortune.
