The triple Goddess or maiden-mother-crone, are symbolic of the waxing, full and waning moon. The Maiden, Mother and Crone represents the stages of a woman’s life and the exploration, growth and understanding that occur. Origins of the triple goddess go back before Roman times to the when life was based in nature worship. The symbol itself is a later development to reclaim the heritage of goddesses by nature based religions or Neo-paganism. The triple goddess is well-known in Celtic or European cultures and mentioned in Roman literature. This is a symbol of the divine feminine; intuition, empowerment, creative energy, love, fertility, spiritual insight, wisdom and mystery.
