Lammas Festival – Sun Earrings, Yellow
Lammas (Lughnasadh) represents the sun and highly important wheat harvest. In Ireland harvest began after Lammas. Lammas signals the time to start storing for winter, especially in Europe, though we do have modern conveniences these days. The first loaf is baked and shared, corn dollies are made, wreath making and gathering of friends and family. The sun lights the world allowing life to flourish and evolve. It is by far the most important source of energy for life on Earth. Like our ancestors, we know the value of the sun and all that it provides us. For this reason the sun has been revered and Sun Gods and Goddess’s stand at the front of most ancient pantheons/religions. The sun lights the world allowing life to flourish and evolve.
