Kush Tradition Necklace
The Kingdom of Kush was a powerful Nubian state (now Sudan) that flourished after the collapse of the New Kingdom in Egypt. With both African and Egyptian influences they were skilled artisans that created beautiful jewellery for the nobility and general population. They used natural gems and intricate metalwork that displayed their unique culture and belief system. They left many smaller sized pyramid burial chambers where archaeologists found many precious jewellery artifacts.
