Description
Holy Trinity – Triquetra
This Christian symbol represents the Holy Trinity: Father, Son (Jesus) and Holy Spirit. This trinity is shaped by the symbol of the fish which in Greek spells the name of Jesus Christ. The three equal arcs express the union of the three and the unending woven symbol expresses the eternal nature of the Trinity. This symbol came into use after the Nicene Creed composed the doctrine of the Holy Trinity in 325 CE. The council declared that: “it is the Father who generates, the Son who is begotten, and the Holy Spirit who proceeds” and in their relations with one another, they are stated to be one in all, each is God, whole and entire! In this style or other forms the Holy Trinity is a sacred Christian symbol expressing love, faith and insight.
