Description

Germanic Tribes Necklace  – Double Strand

The Germanic people also called Teutonic lived in Northern Europe – the modern day Luxembourg, Belgium, Northern France, Alsace, Poland, Austria, Germany and the Netherlands. These fierce tribes connected by their language migrated to other parts of Europe (300-600AD) clashing with the might of the Romans. These tribes included the Goths, Burgundians, Lombards, Angels, Saxons, Jutes, Suebi, Alemanni, Gepids and Vandals. With Germanic woman healers, warriors and Queens, the Romans were shocked at the power these woman had attainted. That said, without the many historians of Rome and Greece, we would know very little about many preliterate cultures (though they had runic symbols and highly skilled artisans). Germanic beaded Jewellery could be one, two or three strands around the neck and sometimes fastened with brooches onto clothing. When the Germanic people became Christianised they help establish medieval Europe.

Necklace Length:  70cm.
