Smudging can be used for welcoming in the new day, or cleansing the body, home or workplace, and is also used for ceremonial occasions, including sweat lodges. By smudging with respect the symbolism goes beyond the physical to enhance your spiritual connection.
Guidelines – How to use loose leaf smudge. Use your incense burner or brass bowl. Use small tongs to hold the charcoal tablet and light it, it will begin to sparkle and turn grey, then put it in the burner. Then begin to add some of the loose leaf/resin, add a little at a time while you are doing your smudging ceremony. Say a prayer or invocation. Dispose when the charcoal when cooled.
