Bells beach, on The Great Ocean Road, is famous for its world class surfing competition held over the Easter weekend in Victoria. The high russet cliffs create a stunning colour clash with the bluish emerald sea. Clouds scatter as the sun glints on the sparling ocean, shortly followed by misty rain. The natural break draws surfers from across the globe; it’s never long before the next big wave. The bushland setting is home to kangaroos, echidnas, koalas and the sounds of Australia’s unique birds. In winter you can see whales migrating to their calving ground in Warrnambool. The social set can enjoy local music and art at festivals, markets, restaurants, pubs and wineries, in the nearby towns of Torquay or Anglesea. Shell middens on Wada Wurrung Aboriginal land are of cultural significance. The Australian Indigenous surfing title draws many to Bells. Watch the sun rise over the surf and be inspired!
