Autumn energy is calm, colourful and empowering. The magic of nature’s leaf fall is spectacular in countries were deciduous trees are the majority. From yellow, orange to red, even the slightest breeze brings a cascade of colour as it signals the change in season. Autumn it a time to gather everything you need for winter; making the grain and vegetable harvest something long celebrated by the ancestors. Be your creative and introspective self in autumn.
The Alder is sacred tree to the Celts for its unique productivity and fiery colours. The Alder is the tree of the divine Hero Bran; the wood of the Alder is white, but its sap is red and looks like a wounded man, its berries and leaves are red in autumn. Green and red dye can be made from the trees flowers and bark making it a prized tree for the ancients. The wood of the Alder is water resistance and therefore used in underwater construction for ancient lake dwellings. The Alder represents strength, mystery, creativity, knowledge, magic and firm foundations to life.
